Favorite Anime #5: Guilty Crown

Wikipedia Summary:
The story revolves around Shu Ouma, a high school boy who comes into possession of an ability called the “Power of the King” allowing him to draw out items called “Voids” from other people. He is then thrown into the conflict between a quasi-governmental organization known as GHQ and a rebel organization called Funeral Parlor which aims to restore Japan’s independence from the GHQ. In the process, Shu has to deal with the burden his ability puts on his shoulders and the horrific mystery of his past. The genre is thriller, action and dystopia.

Before the events of the main story, on December 24, 2029, a biological hazard known as the Apocalypse Virus brought on by an impact event plunges Japan into a state of chaos. This event is later named the Lost Christmas incident. Unable to contain the threat, Japan sought international help and the United Nations dispatches an organization known as the GHQ to their aid. The GHQ successfully contains the outbreak and restores a level of normality at the cost of Japan’s independence. Ten years later, a resistance organization known as the Funeral Parlor wages a campaign against the GHQ to liberate Japan once more.

What I think of the anime:
After watching the anime two times I just couldn’t seem to like the anime like how I wanted to. I didn’t understand why the virus came to be as it looked like crystal shards to me from what they saw of the virus. The anime overall seemed okay in some parts though. I loved the music portion of the anime where there was scenes of Inori singing. My favorite scene was when Shu and his friends driving the jeep to the tall building to amplify Inori’s singing to try and heal those that was affected by the virus. If I could rate the anime I’d give it seven stars out of ten. I liked the music part of the anime but the anime itself not so much. Inori’s voice is pretty when she sings and her character design in the pretty in the anime too. That’s all I can think to say of my thoughts on the anime.
